Carefully designed by PAC International, the RSIC-1 Sound Isolation Clip is intended for use in situations involving concrete, steel, wood, or CMU wall and ceiling systems where efficient noise reduction is critical. The RSIC-1 assembly greatly improves the acoustical performance of the system by effectively isolating and decoupling plywood or gypsum board from the supporting framework. When spaced at 24 x 48 oc, the RSIC-1 clip, which has an Acoustical design load capacity of 36 lbs. per isolator, can handle up to two layers of 5/8 gypsum board with ease. To handle the extra weight in bigger systems, just add more isolators to the system.
By immediately fastening to the framing or structure, the RSIC-1 clip leaves a 1-5/8′′ gap between the gypsum board’s back and the framing’s face. This creative design successfully stops vibrations and noise that would otherwise travel throughout the building. Interestingly, the RSIC-1 Sound Isolation Clip systems have fire resistance ranging from one hour to four hours and are certified for multiple UL fire resistant design components.
