Description
A very high performing method of noise control is offered by the HGR High CAC Fusion Ceiling Tile Product Line.
For every particular application, a wide range of materials and equipment offer noise control solutions. Sound waves are manipulated differently by different products. Generally speaking, there are two main strategies to reduce unwanted sound—sound absorption and sound isolation/blocking—that can be used singly or in combination.
The goal of the High CAC Fusion Tile was to increase speech privacy by preventing noise from entering adjacent noise-sensitive regions and to improve speech intelligibility by reducing room reverberance. On many projects, the arrangement places a noisy area right next to a room that is sensitive to noise. In an effort to save money on labor, materials, and other expenses, the interior demising walls are also stopped short and do not extend all the way up to the underside of the structural ceiling, which exacerbates the problem and encourages an unnecessary acoustic anomaly known as flanking transmission. The sound produced in one room rises, seeps through the ceiling, and easily flows through the ceiling cavity, over the demising wall, and into the next room.
In order to establish seclusion between these two spaces, sound must be excluded or blocked rather than just absorbed by means of carpeting, wall panels, ceiling tiles, and similar materials. Air gaps, decoupling, mass, and mechanical separation are necessary for sound blocking. HGR High CAC Fusion Ceiling Tiles deliver better performance to the user as a result. Fusion Tile leads the acoustical market with a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.85 and a Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC) of 45.
Both the gypsum board tiles and the HGR melamine foam have an ASTM E 84 Class A fire rating.
The Fire-Shield G gypsum core of the prefinished gypsum board tiles is non-combustible. Depending on installation, the non-combustible gypsum core can achieve a fire rating of either one and two hours, ensuring fire safety.
