Description
In the field of acoustics, noise is often defined as undesired sound. In most cases, treating the ceiling can result in the best and most practical acoustic solution for controlling noise in that particular room.
It is possible to achieve a variety of acoustic solutions connected to architectural design and design flexibility by suspending sound-absorptive treatment in the form of baffles from the structural and/or finished ceiling. Unlike treatments that are, say, directly affixed, glued, bolted, etc. to the completed ceiling or wall, sound-absorptive baffles suspended from the structural ceiling offer the room in question a number of extra acoustical advantages. The diffraction effect, which occurs when sound waves travel across the edges and sides of vertical baffles and dissolve and evenly disperse throughout the space, is one amazing advantage of installing baffles vertically. This causes the listener to perceive noise as less intrusive. A greater portion of the baffle’s surface is also left exposed to the sound field because it is suspended vertically. The end result is an improved acoustically finished ceiling or wall panel, as opposed to a conventional direct-attached panel.
HGR Round Hanging Baffles can be used to minimize noise, lessen excessive reverberance, improve speech understandability, lessen stress and its effects, improve focus, and provide general comfort. Therefore, HGR Round Hanging Baffles should be used in environments that are noisy, highly reverberant, and uncomfortable for the user, where a hard lid or acoustical tile ceiling would not fit the intended aesthetic, or where the ceiling alone is not sufficiently absorbing sound to make the space sound better. The addition of HGR Round Hanging Ceiling Baffles to the current finished ceiling can significantly improve the environment’s acoustical profile by lowering perceived sound levels and reverberation (echoes).
To maximize the diffraction effect and help create a more diffuse, balanced sound field, the baffles should be widely distributed over the sound field and suspended as close to the sound source as is reasonable. This is preferable to creating larger clusters. HGR Round Hanging Baffles are readily available in standard and customized sizes and colors, and they may be quickly suspended from corkscrew hangers and aircraft wire.
